• Contesting features

We are very pleased to announce the addition of contesting features to Puzzle Me. You can now run crossword puzzle contests and give away awards to encourage your audience to participate. Approved puzzle creators will be able to get Puzzle Me to collect email addresses or mobile numbers from each player, see detailed analytics about puzzle plays, and list players with the best score, fastest time, etc. This has been a frequently requested feature by our publishing partners, and we can’t wait to see what they do with it!

  • Add crossword puzzles to your newsletters

Newsletter authors: embedding Puzzle Me crosswords as part of your regular mailings can be an excellent way to engage your  audiences, and increase your open and click rate. As an example, Puzzle Me is being used by a public health department — Contra Costa County’s Mosquito and Vector Control — to increase public awareness about common pests and how to recognize and deal with them. You can similarly use puzzles to entertain and inform your audiences. It is easy to embed Puzzle Me puzzles (contact us for an embed code) in your website or blog, and include a link to it in your newsletters.

  • Making puzzles even more visual

We love multimedia clues in crosswords puzzles at Amuse Labs. While we’ve always supported audio, video, youtubes and images in clues,  we’re providing puzzle creators some more options to make the puzzle visually engaging.

The puzzle creator controls now allow you to turn on media previews for clues with image or video links. You can optionally retain the clue text as well. This feature provides an arresting array of visual clues and engages audiences right from the first look. Clicking on the clue opens up the image or video in higher resolution. Check out this feature in the latest Washington Post puzzle powered by Puzzle Me (images + text), or in our featured puzzle on American TV shows (images only).
