Frequently asked questions

Objective

Find quick answers to common questions about creating word search puzzles.

What grid sizes can I use for my word search puzzle?

With the Fixed grid size option, you can create puzzles from 11x11 up to 25x25. The Auto size option adjusts the grid based on your word list, allowing for smaller or custom sizes. For the best experience, we recommend keeping grids at or below 15x15.

How many words can I include in a puzzle?

The number of words depends on your grid size. If you use "Auto size," PuzzleMe™ will choose a grid that fits your word list.

Can you supply word search puzzles for me?

Yes! If you’re on our Enterprise plan, we can provide word search puzzle content. Contact us for details.

Can I control the exact layout of letters in the grid?

If you use the creator form, you can’t set a specific letter layout. However, if you upload a puzzle file, you can edit the grid offline and import your custom layout.

Can I add images, video, or audio to my clues?

Yes! You can use media clues in these formats: JPG, SVG, PNG, GIF, MP3, MP4, or YouTube links.

Can I make the word search grid colored?

You can’t color individual grid cells, but you can change the letter font and the highlight color in the Series Designer to enhance your puzzle’s look.

How can I make my word search puzzle harder?

You can increase difficulty by enabling letter rotation and changing letter size—these options are available in "Krazy Word Search" under Settings. Disabling assist features also makes puzzles more challenging. See our contests documentation for more info.

Can I upload multiple puzzles at once?

Bulk uploading is available for Enterprise plan partners. Please contact us for more information.
