Translate Quiz
Learn how to translate your quiz into multiple languages using AI to reach a broader, global audience.
This feature is available on our Professional and Enterprise plans.
The translation feature uses AI to translate your quiz content into your chosen languages—title, questions, options, hints, and messages. You can translate into multiple languages at once.
It’s useful whether you’re training a global team, teaching across borders, or engaging an international audience. Each translated version is created as a separate puzzle in the same series as the original, so your dashboard stays organized and you avoid re-authoring or maintaining duplicate content. For more AI-powered features, see PuzzleMe AI.
The automatic translation feature is only available for quizzes composed solely of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ).
Here's a quiz offered in multiple languages—choose your language from the picker below to try it.
How to translate
- Open the preview page of your quiz. If your quiz contains only MCQs, you'll see a Translate quiz button in the top navigation bar.
- Click Translate quiz. In the pop-up that appears, select one or more target languages (we support over 40) and click Translate.
- When finished, click Preview to open the translated quizzes. Note that new translations inherit metadata (e.g. publish time, author) from the base quiz.
If you've already translated the quiz, the pop-up lists existing translations and those languages are excluded from the dropdown so you don't create duplicates. Use Preview existing to open the picker preview. To re-translate into a language you already have (e.g. after changing the original), delete that translated quiz from your dashboard first, then translate again.
Preview and publish
If you want to publish all language variants of your quiz in one place, you can do that in a picker. Even when the quiz is in a series with other puzzles, you can publish just the base quiz and its translations in one picker. After translating (or clicking Preview existing in the pop-up), you're taken to that picker's preview page. Use Publish to get embed codes and links; the embedded picker will show only the base quiz and its translations, not other puzzles in the series. For how pickers work and how to embed them, see the series picker docs.
In the picker, each quiz shows its publication date; the title is in the target language with the language name in parentheses (e.g. "Histoire de l'Europe (French)", "Geschichte Europas (German)").
Managing translated quizzes
Translated quizzes are independent puzzles on your dashboard. Edit, delete, and view analytics the same way as for any other quiz.
- Edit: Open any translated puzzle in the creator to tweak the AI-generated translation.
- Delete: Deleting a translated quiz removes only that language version. Deleting the base quiz does not delete its translations—remove those manually if needed.
- Analytics: Each translated quiz has its own analytics; there is no combined view for base + translations.
And as always, as with all AI-generated content, translations may contain errors—we strongly recommend that you review them before publishing.
