Frequently asked questions

Objective

Get answers to common questions about Slide puzzles.

Can I embed a Slide puzzle on my own website?

Yes. You can embed your Slide puzzle on your website or blog using an embed code. Adjust dimensions and settings in the embed to match your layout. Embedding works across browsers and devices. See JavaScript embed.

Can I upload my own image to create a Slide puzzle?

Yes. On the Personal plan, paste a URL to an image hosted on another server. The link must end with an image extension (for example .png, .jpg, or .jpeg). Some hosts block direct linking; see image hosting guidelines and the list of free image hosting services that allow hotlinking.

On the Plus plan and above, you can upload images directly to PuzzleMe without hosting them yourself.

You can also create Slide puzzles in bulk with a CSV file. See Upload formats.

What kind of images work best for Slide puzzles?

Use images whose shape matches your grid. For a 4×3 board, choose a 4:3 image. Square images on square grids are the safest default when you are unsure.

Can I choose the difficulty level of the Slide puzzle?

Yes. Adjust Rows and Columns (minimum 2, maximum 6) and Empty slots (minimum 1, maximum 4) in the creator. Larger grids and fewer empty slots increase difficulty. Smaller grids and more empty slots make the puzzle easier.

Can I track who solved my Slide puzzle and how they performed?

Yes. Puzzle analytics shows completion rates, solve times, and other engagement metrics. You can review play-by-play data and export reports for your audience or assessments.
