Tune in to the Business of Puzzles with Simon Owens

Our co-founder, John Temple, recently sat down with prominent media industry expert Simon Owens for an insightful discussion on the increasingly important role of games within the publishing world. Their conversation delved into the significant impact of interactive content on key metrics such as reader retention, audience engagement, and innovative monetization strategies.
“The number one thing that games provide is engagement. What we see is that the average time for a game like a typical American crossword could be like 15 minutes while so a visit to a normal news site might be two minutes… so number one is engagement. There’s no question the other is habit. Retention of subscribers is higher for those subscribers who play games versus those who do not because they’ve got a reason to come that has some emotional connection to them.”
John Temple, Chairman and Co-founder, Amuse Labs
