Andrew Anker
Andrew’s career has spanned a variety of roles including company founder, executive, investor, banker and coder. He graduated with a B.A. in Economics from Columbia University in 1987.
During the pandemic, he began constructing crossword puzzles again. Through these efforts, he met an entrepreneur who was interested in starting a company to help broaden the market for both constructors and solvers. He ended up stepping in as head of product and launched a site Crosswordr in 2023.

What’s the most memorable puzzle you’ve ever created?
My favorite puzzle is probably Rotisserie League, it’s been my most popular puzzle and I just think the theme is a really strong one.
What’s your all time favourite crossword clue?
I don’t know that I have a favorite all time but I’m always falling in love with recent clues. Recently, I came up with one I’m proud of for a very simple word: ERAS and the clue was “Swift divisions”. I thought that was a pretty good way to clue a common word.
